The echo1 is a rebrand of the CYMA RPK74. Save yourself some cash and just buy the CYMA.

There is no cost effective non-Chinese solution for an rpk. The body on the cyma is made of steel and the internal parts are all AK-standard. If that's the gun you want this is one of the few situations where it's the most viable option.
As far as support guns, it's probably the best platform out there. (version3 gearbox fed by regular hicaps.)

You have a few options for an RPK. Here are the good ones: -Echo 1 -Cyma (if you consider the E1, just get the CYMA) -SRC S series -TSD/SRC Gen 3 -CA -G&P (CYMA externals/G&P internals)
The only one Ive got experience with is the SRC/TSD Gen 2. This gun is extremely solid. Great range, rof, and externals.
BUT, if I were your friend, I would get the CYMA. CYMA AKs are extremely solid, I say that theyre the best on the market. After that, the G&P would be great.
