Since I have started to play airsoft more often I have always wondered what the hell do people carry rubber knives around for. Like whats the point besides giving a little more "Don't f**k with me" kind of look.Plus I've never seen anyone use them besides once when somebody crept up on this other guy and pretended to kill him, and if they are just for stealth kills why not use the old fashion tap. I'm not criticizing people who do have them(so don't hate)I just really want to know what are they for?

I think the intent is to "train you to use a knife" ...."tap-out" as a knife kill is kinda lame since you don't even have a knife ....if someone pulled that on me I'd shoot them then ask to see the knife. If someone really wants to score a knife kill they better actually have said knife. If not I'm going to start using imaginary claymores jump out of my cover and yell "you're all dead"

The game, unlike paintball, has a large dependance on the equipment we use and carry. It's sorta like Aim assist on xbox. Not real, and a real pain in the ass if someone pops you with a revolver from a mile away because the Aim assist guided it in. Just lame.

Alright, makes more sense cause we all know airsoft is more military simulated than paintball. But are they expensive cause I thought buying one or making one. Thanks for the answers on the knives.

We use knives in CQB all the time. If you get knifed outdoors then you're doing something horribly wrong, but it's useful for quiet kills indoors. Also, I know one person who occasionally uses nothing but a riot shield and a knife.

I think it's just to get more into the realism of things, and to flaunt that you got close enough to someone with a gun to knife kill them.

When we play CQB, if you get knifed you don't call yourself out like if you get shot. This makes it a silent option, useful if you're the only one left on your team versus several on the other team. The knife isn't only for show unless you want it to be.
