Looking through the threads, I'm surprised that there are not many discussions about airsoft laws.

I've heard some horror stories about people being fine heavily and even arrest during routine ticket stops by cops (especially in New Jersey, go figure).

Does anyone know where I can find a good resource for airsoft laws?

Treat them like they are real firearms when transporting or in public and you should be good

There really are none that I know of in Philly.Atf says one thing.Police say another.Meaning there must not be set laws for airsoft. But you should be on the safe side and treat them like real guns.Basically don't do anything stupid.

If you read pa laws under firearms I believe there is a section for other projectiles

According the PA Game Commission "firearm" is legally defined by the state of PA as....
"Firearm." An instrument used in the propulsion of shot, shell, bullet or any other
object by the action of gunpowder exploded, explosive powder, the expansion of gas or the
force of a mechanical device under tension.
(1) "Automatic." Any firearm which discharges more than once with a single
pull of the trigger.
(2) "Semiautomatic." Any firearm which reloads without aid of the shooter, but
fires only once with a single pull of the trigger.

What are everyone's thoughts about Registration of Airsoft Weapons? I own a few real steel and have no problem with them being registered. If I have to do it with the Airsoft Weapons as well, so be it.

F that. I don't even believe in the registration of real steal. I believe its an infringement on my right to bare arms.

Would certainly cut the number of kids playing.

The '18 years old to purchase' rule for Airsoft guns does not seem to work. Anyone can click on a button to say 'Yes' they are. It might be the same way for the Registration of Airsoft Guns. ;)

PA isn't as strict as NJ, but you still have to be careful not to brandish AEGs during transport. It's tough with my M249. I currently use a blanket and even that's though. Any suggestions economic solution?

NJ is a pain. You will need to have 2 safety locks per gun (trigger lock, lock box, etc), ammo must be stored separately and not in mags, mags have to be 13 rounds or less, front sights of a rifle must be fixed, etc... The list go on and on... The lesson is to stay away from NJ. :)

Airsoft guns are Illegal to buy, use and sell inside city limits. Ive had the pleasure of using a abandoned industrial site for the last few months here, which is now torn down, and the cops told me as long as it wasnt visable and noone complained id be left alone. but one complaint and I would be arrested. because they are illegal the cops know they arent real and didnt really care as long as it was just a handful of us and quiet.

So yes inside PHILADELPHIA your gun will be taken and you can be charged. hence you do not see any place selling airsoft, alot of places will not ship inside city limits. ive had all my guns sent to bensalem.

You can't even have anything with an edge on it in Philly either. They have such bs knife and gun laws.

It depends on what you are doing and where you are with your airsoft gun.I have one Phila police officer that plays with us and more to join the sport. As far as selling airsoft guns in Philly...yes you can and have a store in city limits. The kick is ONLINE ONLY.No walk in sells. We all know The Armory. Thus that's why even if you live in Philly you can not pick up your items,so they must be shipped.Yes,even if you live around the corner from them.

Always keep this in mind, for any other purpose than what it's intended for, it's a deadly weapon. Don't leave them in your car after games. If you get pulled over and asked if you have weapons tell them you have replica airsoft guns and you're going to or coming from a game. And remember cops can be wrong. If they give you shit just listen and do what they tell you. If they charge you with anything remember that you can always fight it.
