I have a guy up here in NE PA that was on a Squad that is now defunct. He is looking to host his own games and maybe even start a squad. To that end he proposed this scenario:
He is 20 years old and His Uncle (not him) own a section of land along the Susquehanna river. He says his uncle owns an 'island' in the middle of the river which could host up to a 30 vs 30 game. He has said that he can 'ferry' the people over in his boat. He is getting lots of 'that is cool' and 'lets do it', but I have some concerns.
Aside for the Legal & Liability issues, it would be a logistical nightmare hauling people back and forth to this 'island'. I am not sure of the size of the boat or how it is powered, but even a 16 foot boat can only haul 4 people safely. He also stated that the river is 'shallow' in that section. Since the Recent flood, different channels could have been cut which would vary the depth, create new under currents and not to mention debris under the water. Falling into that water, with full gear would be a nightmare. As someone with bad lungs, I would not last two minutes, not to mention being unable to swim back to shore.
Just looking to get some thoughts on a Game Hosted like this. This is a serious post with concerns, not something I am taking lightly. I welcome your comments.

It sounds a bit too risky, not to mention a clusterfuck getting everyone on said island, to be worth the hassle. Unless the island features some insane and unique terrain, all the logistics is wasted. Just because you're surrounded by water doesn't necessarily make the game any better. It's a great idea ...but pulling it off safely and easily would be tough.

My thoughts too. And I sure everyone will be TOTALLY safe when they are there.

Is the land along the river suitable for airsoft? His uncle owns that as well, right?

No idea on the other land. Bad idea all around. The post was removed by the User. I guess he realized it was a bad idea after seeing all the issues with it.
