Im looking for a pair of Full Seal Goggles. The reason I posted this in Gear Discussion as opposed to WTB is because id like to see multiple recommendations without someone trying to sell me something. I currently have a 5 year old plastic and mesh facemask from when i was a younger airsofter, who thought the super 9 was the best gun ever. I need something thats fairly economical, not necessarily cheep, but something thats worth the cost.

Sportsmansguide.com has decent prices on eye protection ....search shooting glasses and goggles ...I know they currently have "used" French military Bolle full seal goggles for $15 which is well worth it. There's so many places to get goggles from ...just keep in mind cheap price normally equals cheap crap ...but there are deals out there.

I had many different pairs of goggles from a couple of high end brands and the best i have come across are the ESS Profile Turbofans. They run about $160 but its worth it for never fogging... EVER and no bb will ever break through it because they can stop .22, shrapnel, and some shotgun rounds. They are honestly the best goggles ive come across and the only con is the price. I got them off of www.opticsplanet.com for i believe $162 with free shipping.

SA08, i dont have anywhere close to $162 to spend on goggles. unfourtunitly I cant justify that type of spending.

Greg, http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/m ... x?a=792392 or http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/3 ... x?a=426492

Sportsmansguide has a ton of great stuf, ive ordered from them before. I thank you for reminding me of them.

Its come down to those two pairs I believe.

That three-pack of goggles doesn't mention any kind of impact resistance, which you will need for airsoft. Don't assume that they're ANSI rated unless it actually says they are.

DO NOT cut corners when it comes to eye protection. Make sure that the goggles you get are ANSI rated (Z87+ specifically) for ballistic protection. You can buy a cheap gun, cheap camo, cheap BBs, but don't cheap out on your eye protection.

Bolle and ESS both make great goggles. I can personally vouch for the effectiveness of Bolle X500 goggles. There's a nice pair of ESS goggles on sale at opticsplanet.com, linked here. They have a lot of Bolles too, but most of them are ski goggles which will not cut the mustard.

^ +10 points ....don't skimp. That 3 goggle deal doesn't specify ANSI ...you could always call and they'll check that for you ...most of the time they list ANSI rated so do check first.

Most of the ess knockoffs I've seen aren't that bad. That said, you get what you pay for.

Cheaperthandirt has the Tan Flakjaks for like $15 a set as well, and those are ANSI rated and whatnot.

Would these FlakJaks be acceptable? I read that they are ANSI rated and fairly fog resistant. I saw them online at ASGI for like $30.

Also, if you're looking for goggles with a fan, you can buy a Fanz kit from ezcreation.ca and put one on pretty much any pair of goggles you want (excepting the small ones that resemble swim goggles). I just got a fan kit from them to put on my JT Switch mask for CQB. Haven't had a chance to test it yet but I'll put up a review once I do.

Im glad you brought up the Flak Jacks because i have actually have experience with them. They are truly fantastic goggles for the price and a couple of my friends have them as well and love them. Its like buying ESS Profilne NVG (non fan version) for about 1/3 the cost. Id say go for them.

I got two different fan kits myself. Put one on my one mask and although a little loud on high speed, it does the job. Other one I have yet to hook up, but might put on my one set of goggles. Maybe put up a picture or two once I do it! ;)
