There's so many upgrade parts available I'm not even sure what's what. 1) According to one source the G-Spec has a tighter bore barrel than the standard VSR-10 but they didn't mention what the diameter was. Is a barrel upgrade even needed? ..and if so 6.01mm or 6.03mm? 2)Hop-up and bucking rubber .....I don't plan on using hop-up so am I to assume I should leave it stock? Any thoughts? 3) Spring/guide/trigger sear ....I'd like to boost the fps but not go nuts with it. What spring should I be looking for? ...and would I need to change the sear to a metal one? 4) What's the deal with PDI? ...the barrels seem to be only made to go with the PDI hop-up which I didn't plan on changing or even using ....should I go with another brand?
Grassyass for the input

I'm not sure that this is the right place for a question like that. Nobody around here really knows very much about guns. I'm sorry, what I meant to say was "I can't imagine why you think anyone around here would be willing to help you." who knows, you might sue us or something. Perhaps the gun wizards over at the Hoodbreed forum can help? Oh, wait...

Just my opinions here: 1) I put a 6.01 barrel in my Standard TM VSR-10. Seemed to be the bomb without it, but the 6.01 worked out great. I was using .43's, but switched back to .30s as it seemed to be right on with it. 2) I left the stock bucking in mind as it was decent. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. 3) Being a Noob at Sniper Rifles, I bought the ASGI Sear Set. Not happening. I went with a Laylax Sear set and that seemed to do the trick. I also tried a 170 spring and too hot for most fields. I went with a 150 and that seemed to be the ticket. 4) I found that if you go PDI or Laylax, you have to go totally one way or the other. I found out the hard way. Bought some Laylax parts and some other PDI parts and they did not seem to like each other. I still have a box of mis-matched parts for my VSR-10.

I'd normally just delete this Sean, but since you feel compelled enough to go thru all your funny pictures I'll leave it up so you can feel good about yourself and have a laugh at my expense.

Keeper ....that was the impression I was getting with PDI and Laylax ...I don't want to swap up everything. The spring sizes/grades I'm unfamiliar with ....130-150 was what I was thinking but wasn't sure what the numbers equate to. I assume they stand for "% of strength". The barrel I'm still on the fence about ....it shoots dead on bone stock. Would swapping the barrel add enough fps to make it worth it?

Keeper ...That's exactly what I was thinking ....I just wanted another 10-20 yards range so I think I'm just going to swap springs and the guide. It's so accurate as is I used it without a scope or sights and aimed shotgun style effectively. Adding all the upgrades is going to increase my engagement distance way too much for most instances and some fields ...making the added costs not even worth it.

I would say a 130 then and that way you should be able to keep the sears in the original trigger setup. Sometimes less is more....

Mine in it's case. 3Clips, Extra Cyclinder & parts. I had it out about a month ago shooting people, but I am more a Close Range guy.

Agreed ....at some point the cylinder will need replacement. Then I'll upgrade. I don't want to go nuts ...I still want to have the ability to shoot at closer targets safely.
