Do bio bbs work just as good as plastic bbs? Are they more prone to breakage and jaming up you gun? Any advantage on shelling out the extra money on them or is it just a waste?

The only advantage is environmental ...plastic BB's will remain where they land forever ...bio's disintegrate over time and leave no "litter". That's it.

Field & Event Dependant. If you want to keep your playing area 'GREEN", then use the BIO. I have been using the G&G .25 Bio BBs for years now. Some other good brands out there as well.

I was donated a bag of G&G Bios a few months back, and within about an hour of opening the bag, on a warm, sunny, dry day, the bb's were MELTED in all of my magazines, and the ones that weren't melted, were warped and jamming my gun.

I no longer want anything to do with bios, ever. I spent hours upon hours cleaning my magazines out.

Sounds like the bag got wet. I have G&G's in a sealed container and use them every weekend. Used over 2000 rounds over the weekend at an Event I was a Saw Gunner. Then ran another 200 through my MP5 mags.

You might have had a bad bag. Most of my Squad uses them too, in AEG's & GBB's. Most are High FPS or High ROF guns. Sorry you had a bad experience with them, but not true of all of us.

* PS...clicked on your link & comes up a directory listing of your site. ;)

I keep forgetting to update that url.. http://chairsoftersultd.com/ is the new link for my team :P

I dunno. The bag was sealed when received.. It may have been a bad bag; but I'll stick to regular shiny white ammo for a while

Running a 6.01 in my Echo1 Mp5, AUG, M249 and a few others and no issues. Of course, I turn over ammo like a nut. Went through 5000 rounds yesterday through my ICS MX5 and Echo1 MP5. it wss a good day! ;)

Not to come off like a Tree hugger, but I would like to look into this for use on my field & at another member's field. With the amount of BBs we are putting into the environment at both our fields, I think we should start thinking about the impact of the plastic on our respective Properties & Fields. I am going to pick up 2 bags of these BBs to try and run them at our next training to see how they work out on my Higher FPS/ROF M4 using a 6.01 Tightbore Barrel. I think this will be a good test and I hope that our team will start thinking about the impact of our sport on the fields we play on. ;)

If they don't jam or foul up your gun, be sure to fire some test shots against a spare set of goggles or something. I've heard stories about certain kinds of bio BBs breaking rated glasses (which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, but better safe than sorry) and I'm interested in seeing if there's any substance to them.

Will do. Training Next Saturday at the large Field, so a lot of High FPS guns there. I have a couple of masks and goggles I will test against and post the results.

Keeper Opinion:

BIOSHOT .25 Bio BBs

PROs
-$17 a Bag of 5000 (.25s)
-Sizes from .20 to .30
-Shoots Decent in Some Guns
-Feels well from G&P and FLASH mags

CONs
-Jams in some guns
-Sticks in some mags when gets wet (Plastic MAG Brand)

Bottom Line:
Using my M4 which is a Tightbore with a High FPS/ROF, I had no problems with my Metal G&P mags and FLASH Mags. However my Plastic MAG Brand midcaps were mis-feeding all the time. Using my Echo1 MP5 (Tightbore & High FPS/ROF), no feed issues with the MAG Brand Mid Caps mags, but I did not shoot that much from them.

Two other players using a G&G MP5, and M14 had no issues using them all day in all their mags.
The BBs did Fail in a ICS M4 with feed & jamming issues with his Magpul mags, again the BBs might have got wet or damp and started sticking.

I would say I am 50/50 on these BBS. I have NEVER had a Feed or Jamming issue with my G&G Brand and I might stick with them.

Update:

I left the BIOSHOT BIO BBs in my M4 MAG Brand Mags from yesterday (I know, bad Idea) and tried to shoot them this morning. Jams & Misfeeds like yesterday. I sprayed a little silcone down in the mags and was able to empty all 6 MidCap mags without issue.

With my Metal mags I had no issues. I think it might be time to switch to all Metal Style G&P mags.

I wonder how the silicone reacts with the bio bb's? I know we have to do a lot of maintenance now with the AEG's and others. So I know for sure we have some more just with the bio's.
