For reference, a full-length M16 is about 40 inches and a full-length AK-47 is about 35.

Thanks BC ....good info to know ...I don't normally post up gear but gun bags are almost as paramount as eye protection as far as "what a player NEEDS"

What do players need gun bags for anyway? I carry my gear around in my back pack so what's up with the gun bag or is it preference.

A gun bag or plain bag will do.It's to cover up the guns. You don't need people seeing you with a gun in hand walking down the street.

Very true but wouldn't the gun bag itself look suspicious.

Yeeeeaaaaa, but if its in a case, a cop would be less likely to draw his weapon knowing it would take a minute or two for you to get yours out of the bag.

Not arguing but can't you be arrested for walking down the street with an airsoft gun.

Yes, at the very least. If you really need to carry a gun down the street, real or fake, put it in a bag first. It's just common sense.
It almost seems like you're arguing against the use of gun bags for transporting airsoft guns.

I have to agree. Safety is number 1 in Airsoft, on AND off the field. Gun bags included.

I use gun bags just to keep the gun safe but when I need to transport I put it in my dad's car or my wagon and cover it with my camping gear.
