Was invited to a C3 (I know, I know...) sanctioned game being held at "The Golf Zone" in Honey Brook. The field is about 35 acres and is divided into several playing fields. No, you don't play airsoft on the golf course. The fields are located in the woods behind/beside it.
This was the first game being held at this location, aside from a few test skirmishes, so I was not expecting a full blown op. That said, it was quite fun. Field limit for AEGs is 400 with .2, and the chrono was actually run properly, which was extremely refreshing to see. I used James Kelly's M14 since it shoots right around that power level. Bolt actions were allowed 500fps.
I stayed for the first two games, which were attack/defend scenarios on the "castle". It's not huge, but its sufficent and well placed. Has two small towers for elevation and murder holes to shoot into and out of. The second game where our team defended lasted until about the final minute before the attacking team realized there was only one person left and stormed in.
There were limited issues with people not calling hit, but you're always going to have that at public games. Its clear that the guys who organized it are interested in promoting fun, safe play. That's all you can ask, really. I enjoyed myself and if any of you are out toward the Downingtown area, I'd say check it out. I believe they plan on holding one game a month there, on the first Sunday of the month. I told the organizers that they're welcome to post games here, so they'll most likely be public knowledge
Overall I'd say it's worth checking out, and I plan on playing there again in the future.
