Mostly everyone showed up today on time so that was a good start. We had a vendor come out today, Full Auto Airsoft. They set up all there gear and sold out the back of their van. It seemed to be a huge hit for everyone. We actually didnt get started till after one due to the fact all of us were like kids in a candy shop. I tried my hardest to get away from that table with out buying anything but that was a failed attempt. After I bought some gear I decided no more, walked by the table again and got sucked over to it to play with more goodies, once again I bought more. It was a great set up and they have some amazing prices on good stuff.
Finially we get the game started with a quick 10 on 12 attack and defend of the ridge. The 12 defenders set up towards the center and got real bunched up. Due to this flaw we were able to come right up the road and get on the ridge and battle it out till we pushed them to the other end then it was game over.
The second attack on the ridge was the same 10 but we went against 16 that time. The defences were a little better but we hit them hard from both sides. Then didnt expect my squad to cross a small swamp and battle some large picker bushes to come up their lightly defended side. As we were doing that the main force game up from the road and engaged. The fighting was a bit more fierce but with both sides being compermised the defenders couldn't hold out for very long.
The next round was our 10 on 20 sniper/recon game. Doug made the 11th guy being the sniper. We split up into two teams and sent 4 guys out to go rescue the sniper while the other 6 of us went on the hunt to try and cut the field in half and stop the hunter killer team. We got our guys pinned down in one of the roadways and fought it out for a while. We started dropping one by one and the large number difference was the deciding factor. After respawning we started chasing down the team and engaging them on all their flanks trying to give the rescue squad as much time as possible. We ended up getting killed again and again and where all out. With only 4 guys left on the field looking for the sniper and half the other team we decided to call the game since it was already an hour long. The four guys never found the sniper nor the other team. Long story short is the sniper said he would be in one spot waiting for the rescue team but when they got there he wasnt there so they spent a good portion of an hour searching that area only to find out that he went elsewhere to hide. Somewhere towards the end a truck was involved with a squad of guys in the bed fully armed looking for people to kill.
We then split everyone up and had a 15 on 15 team death match with 1 respawn. This turned into another long game with fighting everywhere. We opened most of the area for this game. It started off with some intence fire fights which lead into some sneaking around and small shoot outs as people had to respawn.
At this point people are low on ammo, batteries dying or guns just breaking and people leaving so we decided to just call it a day and hang out till dark. I know I'm missing stuff but this is the general idea of the game. All in out it was a great day of airsoft with 30 people showing up to play and having a vendor there made it seem not so much like "back yard airsoft."
There was a good amount of new faces there today as well and it shows we are growing, even though alot of the regulars didn't make it out today. I hope to see everyone again next Saturday. As for the new guys, thanks for coming out and your welcome out anytime.
