So,

I got shot in the face with a copperhead BB round. Blood all over. For all those who play with us, please re-read the rules of the fields you attend. It is stated that all fields are 6mm plastic BB only.

Otherwise, What a great day of Airsoft! Everyone had a level head as is the norm around here anymore. Had 11 players in the beginning, losing 1 or 2 and then gaining 3. We played some good games including a great combat mission on the north side of the field, just past Bunkerville. Jesse, your gonna love this, but we had a stretcher and actually attempted an Evac. Only failed because no one could fine the chopper. So, we'll work on that! Everyone got some good kills today and hands were shaken for next time.

Welcome to the fields, Project Raven, 117, Mzhen, Draye, "Sarge" and others whom I've missed. Just speak up!

Good turnout today for a midsize group. I'll post pictures in a bit.
Bryan

Solid day of airsoft. That evacuation went well, except for M-Dot flanking and destroying all of us haha

Oh HELL YEAH!
That sounds awesome! Haha.

Also, metal BBs? The hell? o.o I would of never expected someone to think that would be even remotely acceptable, lol.
At least it didn't catch you in the goggles or mouth.

Damn Grayman, might have to start telling people about ammo at the Field Briefing to make sure idiots do not use them. ;)

i'm surprised a .177 (4.5mm) copper BB would even cycle properly in an airsoft gun.

I have to hand it to you Grayman ....you're a more patient person than I. If someone shot me in the face with a .177 BB gun because they felt "it was the safer option" ....I would've had them arrested and charged with aggravated assault, and illegal possession of a firearm. It's this type of behavior that stains the sport and leads to California painting guns bright orange because participants continue to demonstrate stupidity. I understand people make mistakes and deserve redemption ...but this person made three mistakes ...1) knowingly bringing an illegal weapon onto the field ...2) deciding to use that weapon as the safer alternative ...and 3) aiming for the face rather than the torso at close range. I question this persons common sense and overall cognitive capacity to even participate. This persons justification is equal to thinking that it's safer to stab someone with a real KBAR as a "knife kill" rather then engaging at an unsafe distance. The icing on the cake is ...at 10 meters he hit Grayman in the face. Anyone who either "aims for the face" or is that bad of a shot at 10 meters ....shouldn't be participating in any sport involving firearms. And we all wonder why we have to "hide" our sport from the public. Personally I think it's unacceptable period ...had it been a regular and an adult that did this there might not be so much forgiveness and that person would never be allowed on the field again.

Anyhow .....it sounds like the remainder of the day was a blast. I like hearing when people add some extra's to the game successfully. I'm sorry I missed it ...even though I was away unexpectedly I still would've missed it and been down at GB with the team. Maybe we can draft up an Op one of these days and incorporate "the stretcher" into it.

Dude popped me in the mouth, and yes, there was blood. Sean, I feel your pain. He did get me in my FULL SEAL goggles and I heard them wiz past my ears.

The gun was a Co2 used for hunting small game. And yea, I think that we'll have to be more vigilant to make sure new guys don't confuse 6mm plastic with whatever else.

Here's a pic for those of you who don't know the difference:

Here are some photos. Others are kinda crappy.
